Are the automated systems reliable?  What if the automated system doesn't work?

Can I get the IP features and transmit video over DVB?

Yes you can.  QuickSPOT systems are now available with a DVB transmission option as well.  You can enjoy all the features of IP systems and switch to DVB when necessary.  

Is IP as reliable as DVB for video?

Great question.  Internet Protocol (IP) frequently gets a bad rap because people associate IP with the unstable Internet connections they experience at their home and office.   IP is just another method of packaging information for transmission and is no more or less reliable that DVB, ASI or other transmission protocols.  What matters is the quality of the link.  On Call gives you private, dedicated satellite space which means unlike public or shared internet connections there is never any problem with network congestion which can disrupt your video transmission.
